What has led
to me being here...
My journey isn't a straightforward one — a real mix of pain, challenges, frustrations and a path to healing that led me somewhere I didn't know was possible. Ultimately, it led me back to wholeness — back to my body.
Back to Katy.

My journey has not been straight forward at all! But it's what got me to where I am today.
When I think back I know that little Katy wouldn't have thought that this was possible. I am living a life that she didnt think would ever happen.
As a gay woman (lesbian) being part of the LGBTQIA+ community has been such a big part of my journey. I was thrown out of my family home when I was a teenager, purely because I was gay. This taught me so much about how I had to behave, what I had to hide and ultimately that it wasnt safe for me to be me. To be myself. I grew up and spent many m.a.n.y years hating who I was. Thinking and feeling like there must be something wrong for me. All because I fell in love with my best friend.
It has taken me many years and a lot of work to be able to accept who I am and to love myself again.
And then on top of being gay as a 30 something year old I found out that I have ADHD. And again, it’s taken more work and more determination to accept all the different aspects of who I am. And this is where my passion comes from. I feel like my purpose is to help other women heal and grow, moving away from the stories of their past into their future - having their own back. We get to feel better and I love to be a part of womens journeys in this.
Because of my past, I had to 'cut off' so many parts of myself to be able to get through life and I pushed those memories, stories, beliefs and parts of me down so so deep inside me - I never wanted to access them, as I was scared that I would be totally floored and unable to cope.
I was scared that everything would change. And it has, but in the best possible way.
Through the most gentle, slow, unfurling process and being held like never before; building and then trusting my own sense of safety, I have been able to piece together all the parts of me that I left outside the room for so many years. And this has only been possible through working with my body.

Many many years of therapy helped me to understand my life and my story and see why I was the way I was. The awareness was great, but I didnt really FEEL any different. I met myself with so much frustration (and at times hatred) over why I wasn't able to truly change how I felt, even when I knew I was no longer in that past. I knew I was safe but my body didnt feel it.
I now know - my body was holding it all and I wasn't even aware. My anxiety was running the show, leading me to feel deep shame, embarrassment and at times real despair. My psychologist said to me many years ago to 'make friends' with my anxiety but this wasn't truly possible until I worked with my body.
I now experience all of the emotions that we all go through — some nicer than others — but I no longer dread and fear the negative emotions. I feel calmer knowing that my emotions are just there for a reason and they will pass by. My anxiety and fear no longer get in my way or hold me back. This has changed my life. And changed how I relate to myself.
Setting up this business has been a HUGE moment for me — realising that I no longer wanted to just feel the wonder of being able to heal and grow in this way but actually train and become a practitioner able to support other women to feel the same. To feel that freedom from their mind, that togetherness with their body and to ultimately be supported back to wholeness.
Prior to training as a life coach and somatic practitioner I have spent nearly 15 years in Human Resources — working for different companies and within different teams but with one goal: to help and support people. For the last 3 years I have worked in learning leadership roles and love to support people with their development — but deep down I knew that I was meant to help and support women on a deeper level.
My past has been messy, challenging and really fricking dark at times, but everything I have been through has led me to be here. I am happily married to my incredible wife Laura and we live with our three furbabies in Cambridgeshire within the UK. We only moved here last year so we're enjoying the weekends exploring the areas close-by. Countryside walks, picnics and mooching around little villages make for a perfect day.
I am obsessed with cats (official crazy cat lady here) and believe that animals bring us so much love and joy and are a huge part of our healing — holding us even when we don't know how to hold ourselves.
My story, my experience and my past has led me to be here today and whilst my training is important I have been on the journey that I support my clients with — and it is that, that allows me to do what I do best: help people like you to heal and grow and return to their wholeness.
